It seems that even though no one makes the clear distinction, it’s not drive that propels these breakers to one of the biggest events in the world, but passion. It’s not about blind ambition, because that lacks soul, but it’s the true love of what they do that keeps them dancing and pushing themselves and everyone around them, and thereby elevating the art form.
And when you’re that passionate about something, hard work isn’t really hard work, and everyone’s just having a good time. That’s how you chill.
Good breakdown on real foundation from one of the pioneers of the dance; always good to keep in mind bboying is more than just trick-trick-trick, even if a lot of people approach it that way.
