After watching this clip, which is both an awesome use of space and a great promo for Red Bull, I’m a little surprised more clips don’t take advantage of empty urban downtowns at night. These are places that have lots of open spaces, are empty, often environments that lend themselves to breakin innovation, but still well lit.
Plus the fun of playing with traffic cones seems too big to resist!
I know that this should be sort of a nostalgic clip for anyone who grew up watching the show, but honestly, after watching this again, I couldn’t see anything other than how creepy the Mario Bros actors were.
Like “I wouldn’t leave you with my kids” creepy. For real.
Old school poppers back in the day, all the way up to today!
And as great as the footage is from Soul Train, it’s made even better by the apathy of the host. He and his pencil thin microphone really didn’t want to be there that day and he makes no effort to hide it.
So much fun… not a whole lot of dance stuff in it, but still lots of skills, and it’s hard to argue that the physical pushing of yourself for dance doesn’t correlate well with other physical accomplishments.
